Child day care centre - apply for permission to operate
The provider of a child day care centre requires an operating licence to run the facility. It ensures a minimum quality of framework conditions. Associations or parents' initiatives can also operate a day care centre.

Prerequisite
- The welfare of the children in the centre is guaranteed.
- You can ensure the spatial, technical, conceptual, economic and personnel requirements.

Procedure
You can apply for the operating licence digitally or in writing. A digital application as part of the digital operating licence procedure (DiBev) is possible after registration via Kita-Data-Webhouse with the personal provider access. The written application forms can be found on the KVJS homepage under operating licence.

Involve the following authorities in good time beforehand:
- Health department
- Veterinary office
- Building authority
- Fire protection authority
- Accident insurance fund
You must confirm in the application form that you fulfil the requirements of these authorities.

When opening a new centre, we recommend contacting us at least three months before the planned opening date and seeking advice at an early stage during the planning phase.
You can seek advice from the State Youth Welfare Office during the planning stage.
If you operate a facility without the required licence, you are committing an administrative offence.
