Sports in Heidenheim
Fencing
Heidenheim is one of the top locations for fencing. Every year in spring the biggest and world famous fencing competition in men’s epee called the „Heidenheimer Pokal“takes place here. Arnd Schmitt, the Olympic champion from Heidenheim won this competition twice. Ralf Bißdorf, who won the silver medal at the Olympic games in Sidney, was also born in Heidenheim.
The fencing centre in Heidenheim is one of the three biggest centres in Germany. Heidenheim athletes are also very successful in pentathlon.
Aquarena
The „Aquarena“ is one of the few swimming pools in the south of Germany whose pool of about 50 meters complies with Olympic standards. There is an outside pool, a diving pool and a pool for babies.
Mountain bike-Park and X-Country-Course
Next to the ski lift there is a mountain bike course which entails everything a biker wishes for.

The course, located in a forest, is 7.8 kilometres long and finishes with a downhill track. The track offers seven jumps and one freestyle section.
